Vitamin B 12 and Vitamin D deficiency
Hi doc, I am 7 month pregnant and I received my blood reports today, I observed my vitamin b 12 levels are 122 pg/ml and vitamin D is 28.32 ng/ml which are low as per biological reference... I just recovered from Covid during which i had stopped intake of dairy products (vegetarian), did that affect my levels? How should I overcome this deficiency ? Would it have already affected the baby's brain development? I m worried, kindly help me

Hell mam, low vitamin D and B12 levels are definately areas of concern, but these can easily be rectified with supplements. So consult your gynae, she will guide you on supplements.

Yes. A vegetarian diet is very harmful and this is the reason for deficiency but it can be replenished by a supplementation. You can go for Vitamin B complex tablet per day e.g. Neurobion Forte and Vitamin D 60000 IU tablet/capsule 1 per week. However you must take proper written prescription from a Dietitian or a Doctor though these supplements are non prescription drug.
