Does anyone have vegan/ vegetarian alternative for Vitamin d3 supplements?
My vitamin D, 25- Hydroxy serum, reading is 30nmol/L (optimal range 75-250nmol/L). Require vegetarian D3 supplements. Kindly advice.

You get Vit D from
a) Sun light. Exposing your face, arms, legs, back, upper chest to sunlight for half an hour twice a week (during early hours when Sun is not very hot)
b) Mushrooms. Mushrooms are grown in dark environments . But if they are exposed to Sunlight for half an hour before they are consumed then they also become a good store of Vit D
c) Cheese and other Dairy products. About 50 gm per day is required.
Milk and some other foods like cooking oil are fortified by Vit D in some Countries.
d) Vit D3 Capsules or Sachets.
They are not exactly Natural products but you have the best chance of maintaining your Vit D level by consuming these.
Cow's milk , fortified milk ,dairy products like cheese , yogurt ,oranges or orange juice , cereals are rich sources of vitamin d. Besides fortified foods, mushrooms are the sufficient non-animal source of vitamin D.
Exposure to the sunlight in the morning for 30 minutes a day is recommended.You have vitamin d deficiency , which needs weekly 60000 iu vitamin d for at least 15 weeks along with calcium supplement daily.
