Vit d and b12 deficiency
Two months ago, my blood tests showed severe deficiencies: Vitamin D was 5 ng/mL and Vitamin B12 was 101 pg/mL. I was treated with an Arachitol 6L vitamin D injection, followed by a 60,000 IU vitamin D capsule three days later. After taking the capsule, I experienced sudden dizziness and unsteadiness, which caused me to fall, although I did not lose consciousness. Since then, I have been taking 1,000 IU of vitamin D daily. My recent blood tests show that my Vitamin D has improved to 20 ng/mL and my Vitamin B12 is now 946 pg/mL. Most of my deficiency-related symptoms have resolved, but the dizziness and feeling of unsteadiness that started after that episode have persisted and have not completely gone away. I would like to know what could be causing these ongoing symptoms and what further evaluation or treatment might be needed. Thank you

Persistent dizziness and unsteadiness even after vitamin levels have improved can sometimes be due to inner ear issues, residual neurological effects of the deficiency, or other causes that need proper evaluation. The fall episode should also be investigated to rule out any related cause.
Next Steps
A neurology or ENT consultation would be helpful along with a detailed clinical examination. Please consult me directly on Practo for a detailed evaluation.

Continue Vitamin D replacement to achieve levels >30 ng/mL and maintain adequate B12 supplementation. Further workup should focus on vestibular, autonomic, or neurological causes rather than attributing symptoms solely to vitamin deficiency or supplementation.

Your Vitamin D and B12 levels have improved well. Persistent dizziness is unlikely to be due to the vitamin supplements alone, especially after 2 months. Other causes such as inner ear problems, low blood pressure, anemia, anxiety, or neurological issues should be considered.
Next Steps
Feel free to consult for further evaluation and treatment plan.
