Issue: Citrus fruits (oranges, lemons) cause throat/tonsil irritation Goal: Improve immunity with Vitamin C without triggering symptoms ✅ Recommended Alternatives to Citrus-based Vitamin C: 🔹 1. Non-Citrus Natural Sources (Milder on Throat): Guava – very high in Vitamin C Papaya Kiwi fruit Strawberries Amla (Indian gooseberry) – use diluted amla juice or in cooked form These are less acidic than citrus fruits and generally gentler on the throat 🔹 2. Vitamin C Supplements (Buffered Forms): Vitamin C (Ascorbic acid) – 500 mg daily Choose non-acidic or buffered forms like: Calcium ascorbate Sodium ascorbate Ester-C (non-acidic) These reduce the risk of throat irritation common with acidic sources 💊 Dosage (Harrison’s Immunity Section Reference): 500–1000 mg/day is safe and effective for immune support in adults Avoid megadoses (>2000 mg/day), which offer no added benefit and may cause GI upset 🟢 Other Immunity Boost Tips: Maintain sleep hygiene Eat zinc-rich foods (pumpkin seeds, lentils) Consider probiotics, especially after infections Avoid smoking, stress, and processed foods 📘 Reference: Harrison’s Manual of Medicine: Vitamin C supports neutrophil function, but excess acidity may cause mucosal irritation. Buffered supplementation is advised in sensitive individuals. Would you like a personalized Vitamin C intake chart or immunity-boosting weekly food planner? Mark HELPFUL IF U R SATISFIED WITH ANSWER

Tab vit c 100mg one morning and one evening for 15 days is good enough, when you have no problem. Apart from citrus fruits, berries, pine apple, grapes, black currant, potatoes,  bell peppers  tomato are also natural sources of vitamin C.
