Paracetamol reduces the body temperature .Fever lasting for 5 days or more needs to be investigated.Get your CBC, CRP, urine analysis, typhoid test, dengue and malaria profile
Rather then taking symptomatic treatment
go for complete fever profile to find the cause of fever. It includes
CBC
CRP
PS FOR MP
WIDAL TEST
URINE ROUTINE AND MICROSCOPIC EXAMINATION
CHEST X-RAY
USG ABD
And take treatment as per report.
Fever lasting more than 5 days needs blood tests â don't just manage with paracetamol. Get CBC, dengue NS1 antigen, typhoid (Widal/blood culture), and malaria test done today. Low platelets = dengue; high WBC = bacterial. Each needs different treatment. Paracetamol only brings fever down temporarily, it doesn't treat the cause.
Next Steps
Consult me on Practo with your reports urgently â or visit a doctor in person today.
Your fever seems to be enjoying the "Paracetamol → disappear → come back" challenge. 😅 Unfortunately, that's not how recovery should work. A 102°F fever lasting more than 5 days isn't something to label as "just viral." Paracetamol treats the temperature, not the reason behind it.
Next Steps
Stop guessing and start investigating. Consult a physician for a proper examination and the right tests (CBC, dengue, malaria, typhoid, urine test, etc., depending on your symptoms). You can also consult me online—I’ll help you identify the most likely cause and avoid unnecessary tests or medications.
Health Tips
🛑 If you develop breathlessness, persistent vomiting, confusion, severe weakness, low urine output, or the fever keeps worsening, seek immediate medical care. Fever is a symptom—not a diagnosis. Don't let it keep winning the hide-and-seek game.

Need more history
Does the fever comes with chills?
Does it increases at night?
Associated with body pain?
Because all these three scenarios have different diagnosis and treatment starts accordingly.
For time being get yourself tested for
1. Malaria profile
2. Dengue profile
3. Typhoid
Get yourself evaluated for Typhoid, Dengue and malaria as these are common causes of fever in monsoon. It might be common viral fever too.
Tests:-
Typhidot IgM
Dengue - NS1 & IgM
MP test
Next Steps
•Paracetamol 650mg - twice daily
•Tab Amoxyclav 625mg - thrice daily for 10 days
•WHO ORS - 2 litres daily
