Hi. Video games are harmful especially if played in excess. They may have physical harms as well as psychological harms. If the video game use is excessive, if one neglects other activities and prefers video games, if there is craving, if there is constantly increasing time spent then it points towards problem use or addiction to video games.
As per research certain types of games like action games can be more harmful.
The various problems that are caused are- effect on vision, headaches, violence & behavioral problems, irritability, anxiety, neglect of social roles etc.
