USG at 34 Weeks & Dexamethasone
Hello Doc, Wife had USG done at 34W-5D of her pregnancy cycle. Reports attached. Is everything ok in the report? Doc has asked her to get 4 doses (every 12 hours) of Dexamethasone injections in 35th week for lung maturity of fetus. Is there anything in report which indicates lungs are not maturing? Also are these injections safe for foetus and mother? Any major side effects. Just want to add wife is fine with no BP, no Diabetes or HB issues. Weight is also fine then why is there a need of dexa injections? We are not scheduled for C-Section yet too. Please throw light. Looking forward to your responses. Thank you.

Everything seems to be okay Inj dexa is generally given if preterm delivery (before 37 weeks) is anticipated.. which is better judged by examining gynecologist.
