Urticaria, hives
About 3 weeks back was diagnosed with Urticaria and put on a dosage of levocetrizine 5mg -1 tab and atarax 5mg -1 tab night for 21 days. It's the 22nd day now and while after the first 3-4 days the hives had disappeared, they re-appeared and are today on the 22nd day, they are still there. I have also had long term digestion, constipation issues btw. Have also taken Zenteel 1 a week, for 2 weeks, to rule out stomach worms etc. Suggestions please.

I would first like to find out if there is an inciting trigger, whether it be nuts, seafood, dust, etc. Based on the patients history, it seems that the urticaria was re triggered. Tab Atarax dose was also very low for the patients body weight.
Next Steps
Increase the dosing of Atarax to 25mg 3x/day. Some individuals may get drowsy with this type of antihistamine, if so in place take Tab. Allegra 180mg in the morning and afternoon. I would highly recommend to get a Serum IgE level done. De-worming yourself was a good idea, but as the lesions returned i feel this is the best option. Topically, nothing was given to you, so please use any brand of calamine lotion with liquid paraffin and aloe vera.
Health Tips
Look out for new lesions. If you are feeling too drowsy, then please dont take atarax during the day time.

Hi There are different forms of urticaria based on the causes and their triggers. If it's a chronic one it would require evaluation with a few blood tests and also a test called Asst (Autologous serum skin test), which turns positive of its an autoimmune urticaria. The medicines given were appropriate. Meanwhile you can continue those for relief.
Next Steps
Consult for further detailed evaluation and right treatment.
Health Tips
Do use Tab. Rantac 150mg before food for gastric issue and also a Deworming tablet. Albendazole 400mg.stat.
