Allergy/urticaria/hives
Sir/Mam, I am having a problem of urticaria/hives for the pasr few years now. I am allergic to a few foods. I have tried all the doctors in my locality but once I stop their course the problem resurfaces. The foods I am allergic to are Spices, brinjal, Rajma, Urad dal, Guava, oats, curd and its products, namkeen and yes excess sugar, jaggery. Sometimes within a matter of a few minutes peculiar patterns emerge on my different body parts. but disappear within 15-20 mins. i have got my Absolute Eosoniphil count Test done and my AEC was 1000 (One thousand) and doctor said it should have been maximum 250. I have taken alot of antihistamines in the past which have costed my digestion system greatly. Thank You.

Often, the cause of chronic hives is not clear. In some cases, chronic hives are a sign of an underlying health problem, such as thyroid disease or lupus.. Oral corticosteroids, such as prednisone, can help lessen swelling, redness and itching. These usually are used only for a short time to control severe hives or angioedema because they can cause serious side effects.. Certain immunosuppresants are also.useful. kindly consult Immunologist...
