Uric Acid - 6 months
Dear Doctor, I am suffering from joint pains of uric acid. febuxostat 40 has given different doctors. After stop using 1 or 2 months, uric acid levels are increasing again. Have visited 1 of most reputed hospital in Bangalore, still same results. In reports vitamin D and B12 are not normal. I am vegitarian and non alcoholic. During this time, I am taking 4 -5 litre of water and having strict diet. I want to know what is might be root cause or what other lab tests to be done to know issue.

It seems you are diagnosed with gout. You need to continue uric acid lower drugs. You should not stop these medicines without consulting doctor otherwise you may develop other joint pain and damage to joints. You should follow dietary instructions and regular doctor visit and  regular xray if pain not improve. It might possible you will get pain episode or flare during treatment too.

This is because of your bodies inability to metabolise uric acid (Gout). You may have to take anti gout medication for a long duration.
