Underweight
I am 22 year old, my weight is 39 and height is 5.3ft. my eating habits are regular, I generally eat like what a normal adult would eat. Inspite of trying I am not gaining any weight. For few days my TSH levels were high which is now normal. Guide me on this. What should I eat and my lifestyle be like.

Hi, You can opt from all the variety of pulses, eggs, white meat I.e. chicken and fish for proteins prepared in less oil with healthy way of cooking methods or any type of healthy preparation like sprouts, steamed or cooked on liw heat with lid. cover. For carbohydrates you can select any of grains in combination in a healthy way of preparation. Select all the seasonal vegetables and fruits of variety around 4 to 5 servings. Atleast 500 ml of low fat milk or its products must be included in your daily intake. Keep proper hydration. Avoid readymade foods ,fried foods and refined as well as processed products.

Hello there. I can understand your concern. What did you do to make your TSH normal? Because if there was a problem, it wouldn't go to normal by itself. You need to have high calorie foods regularly in a day at short intervals. Consult a dietician in person for a detailed diet chart. Best regards. Dr. Anil Kumar Jain. Bangalore.
