Generally the second scan is anomaly scan between 19 and 22 queens, if you are elderly or family history of down s baby or any previous baby of downs you can go for 12 week scan

First Ultrasound is OK whenever the patient goes to the doctor for first time. But second ultrasound should have been done at 12 or 13 weeks at the time of Double marker. Along with Double marker we do Nuchal Translucency, a USG finding. That will exclude Down's Syndrome to a very large extent.
The USG is done on a number of occasions.

Basically we need level 2 USG to rule out congenital anaomaly....what is ur week at present if it is between 18 - 22week then still u can go for it ... But USG must...why r u so tensed about this 2 USG....if u have previous child with any anomaly then u should take tension otherwise don't take unnecessary tension.....if ur taking medicine prescribed by ur doc and not taken any other medicine .....then don't bothered so much ....
nope
dating scan at 7 to 8 weeks
NT scan at 12 weeks
Anomaly scan at 20 weeks
growth scan 26 to 28 weeks
2nd growth at 34 to 36 weeks
last 2 varies with every gynaecologist
