Bandage is generally kept for 2 days. Tympanoplasty is a day care surgery. We admit you on the same day, operate and discharge in the evening. There are gel foams which are kept inside ear which are dissolvable.

Packing and bandages usually are kept for approx a week , there might be some additional dressing inside the ear post surgery which may stay for a week more as per ur other question ... It depends on factors like size of perforation/ width of ear canal/ whether mastoid exploration is needed or not ... It can be planned by the surgeon Cost can vary ... If u have an insurance then u pay either a small amount or cashless ... Rest depends on patient to patient and what hospital u choose to be operated in

Ear bandage is kept 2-7 days. Packing inside the ear 7-15 days. Usually self - absorbable sponge like material ( gel foam) is kept inside the ear canal over the graft, which usually dissolves within a months time. Incision, (depends on the operating surgeon along with few other patient factors), can be behind the ear or above the ear canal. Cost depends on the surgeon, hospital , type of room chosen and patient factors like type of tympanoplasty and any additional procedure required (ossiculoplasty / mastoid exploration). Ear- examination, Audiometry and sometimes CT scan help in planning the surgery for individual patient.
