How is tb tested , one of the doctor suspects he has tb in the lungs and suggested a bronchoscopy, but his coughing has reduced to 90% when the esr count has become normal. Isn't there any other way to check tb infection other than bronchoscopy.

If it is dry cough of more than two weeks, patient is unable to produce sputum, in suspicion of pulmonary tb , bronchoscopy is one of the option for diagnosis for confirmation of tb.

Get you morning sputum. Prior to that keep your self hydrated and in morning take steam and cough out good quality of sputum. Send that sputum for Gene Xpert or MJ culture. Which would done at govt hospital for free.

Pulmonary Tb is diagnosed by sputum for Afb and cb not test.,xray chest pa view. Pl consult Pulmonologist online with all the reports and treatment taken.
