Tubectomy after family planning
Hello Doctor, I would like to seek your advice regarding a 31-year-old woman who has two children, both delivered by C-section. During her second C-section, approximately eight years ago, she underwent family planning (tubectomy). She is currently living separately from her husband, although they are not legally divorced. She is considering remarriage in the future and would like to know whether she could have another child. Could you please clarify the following? 1. Is tubectomy reversal a possible option in her case, or would IVF be more suitable? 2. Can she undergo the necessary consultation and treatment if she does not have a marriage certificate but has identity documents such as Aadhaar, PAN card, ration card and community certificate? 3. Are there any specific legal requirements or consent documents she would need to provide, considering that she is currently separated but not legally divorced? 4. Would it be possible to assess her eligibility for treatment before remarry

Tubectomy  is a reversible procedure but the success of this recanalisation shall be poor in this  case reasons A long gap of more than 5 years after the surgery Tubectomy done by hand not laparoscopy IVF can be a good option for this patient Marriage certificate is not mandatory but this can be a legally challenging issue Where legal separation has not been sought  from the previous partner

Both tubal reversal and IVF   pregnancy is possible. But preferably IVF as tubal reversal may not be successful .

At 31, after two C-sections and a tubectomy about 8 years back, you have both tubal reversal and IVF as options going forward. IVF usually works better this many years out, since reversal depends on how much healthy tube remains and your ovarian reserve.
Next Steps
Please see a fertility specialist, who can check your tubes and ovarian reserve with a scan and blood tests to decide which option suits you better.
Health Tips
Marriage status and document requirements vary by clinic, so confirm what you'll need for consultation and consent directly with the center before your appointment.
