First of all toothpastes are for polishing of your teeth so they look fresh and clean and stains free.they have fluoride which prevents tooth decay.and it's doses varies from children to adult.kids under 2 don't require that because most of tooth paste they ingest it and after 2 when they learn not to swallow, kids can do fluoride paste which has less quantity of it.here toothbrush has key role.your brushing should be proper. For kids quantity of paste should be pea size. Therefore use any brand and flavour which your kid like .just check for fluoride content.
I can see that you are an informed and concerned parent and it's highly appreciable. Both the pastes mentioned by you are widely used and accepted and choice could be based on child's liking of taste. Non fluoridated pastes are recommended as children have a habit of Swallowing the paste which could be harmful. Thanks
