Hello sir. Yes tooth sensitivity is normal. Specially if this is your first scaling experience. You will need  to visit for dental scaling more frequently. If the sensitivity stays more than few days. Consult your dentist. That would be good. Hope this helped

After your tooth cleaning it’s normal for the teeth to be sensitive because the plaque or calculus from that region is being removed and the underlying area is exposed, so after few days the gums which went lower due to these calculus, will come back to it’s original position, which will relieve your sensitivity and pain
Next Steps
Brush properly twice daily
Health Tips
Don’t use any harsh chemicals on the teeth

If the gums are healthy you can use the desensitizing toothpaste for 3-4 weeks. The main cause of tooth sensitivity is the receding gums ,exposed underlying root of the tooth or tooth erosion.if this the case you have get the treatment.
