Tooth sensitivity and swollen gingiva
6 month ago first realised sensation in upper left central incisor. That time dentist checked and confirm that nothing unusual. Recently feeling burning sensation and sensitivity in that area. OPG was normal and another dentist said no particular issue found by checking that tooth area. I saw swollen gingiva in that area for a long time as symptoms are intermittent. Still using stolin R toothpaste and used perio rexidin mouth was for 10 days. What should I do now? Is it something very serious and life threatening? Please help

but the gum in that area looks slightly swollen, which may be due to local irritation, minor infection, or past trauma to the tooth. Even though your OPG was normal, sometimes small problems don’t show up in those scans. We may need to do a detailed tooth test (like a pulp vitality test) or a smaller X-ray (IOPA) to check for any hidden issues. For now, keep brushing gently, continue using Stolin R, and avoid hard or spicy foods around that area. Please visit a dentist for proper examination and oral prophylaxis is needed

Since you haven’t provided an X-ray, it’s difficult to determine the exact cause. However, based on the image, there doesn't appear to be any major issue. It’s likely a case of localized gum inflammation, possibly due to improper brushing technique or plaque accumulation. I recommend the following steps: Brush twice daily using a soft-bristled toothbrush and proper technique. You can watch some educational videos on brushing to improve your method. Continue using Stolin R toothpaste, but avoid long-term use of Perio Rexidine mouthwash, as prolonged use can cause staining and alter taste. If the burning sensation or swelling persists, visit a dentist for a professional cleaning (scaling). Proper oral hygiene often improves these symptoms within a few weeks. If it doesn’t, a more detailed clinical evaluation may be needed.
Next Steps
Get the scaling (ultrasonic tooth cleaning) done at the dentist.

Hello, I'm a gum specialist (Periodontist) By looking at the picture, I can see mild gingivitis and presence of yellow deposits (plaque) around your teeth. The swelling could also be because of food lodgment in that particular area. Since the x ray seems to be normal, it looks like it involves only the gum tissue. Treatment : Get a round of ultrasonic scaling (cleaning) done by a periodontist or general dentist
Next Steps
Ultrasonic scaling / cleaning followed by use of dental floss daily
Health Tips
Do not prolong the use Stolin toothpaste or rexidin mouthwash. Unless prescribed.

Hello It’s better if you can visit a dentist for scaling and then follow oral hygiene instructions carefully GENERAL ADVICE: • visit the dentist for scaling every six months to one year • Gargle mouth after every meal solid or liquid • Massage the gums with the index finger twice daily for one minute after brushing • Use mouthwash twice daily • Brush twice daily using the right technique using the flouridated toothpaste • Use soft bristled toothbrush

hi the picture shows, it can be either due to improper brushing pattern or using a hard bristle brush, or slight stress / ulcer related Treatment plan Change ur brush to ultrasoft or suprasoft bristle tooth brush, Try to hold ur brush at the tip with three or four fingers alone so you wont apply heavy pressure on the gums, Keep ur brush bristle at 45" angulation to ur tooth, Brush for 2-4 mins max, get "gum tone power" - charak -- from amazon.co.in and massage ur gums with that powder either before or after brushing with ur finger

It doesn't look serious, but the persistent symptoms and swollen gingiva suggest localized gingivitis or trauma. Since OPG is normal and symptoms are intermittent, I recommend a clinical evaluation with an IOPA X-ray of the area to rule out any periapical or periodontal issue. Maintain gentle brushing and avoid irritants.
