Firstly, you cannot place the cap on your own.If it comes out then visit a dentist and get it properly cemented.May be the cap is not placed correctly which is causing gum injury and subsequently pain.
Next Steps
Visit a local dentist and get it Physically evaluated and an X-ray followed by treatment required.

Hi.. This could be due to gum infection around the cap region. Better you visit a dentist nearby and get it checked.

There are multiple possibilities of pain. The origin of pain can be from the adjacent tooth. The pain is sometimes referred pain, the pain from upper tooth appears to be originating from lower tooth.Or it can be re-infection of root canal treated tooth. Even the cap might be having high point causing pain.
Next Steps
You need thorough checkup.

Improper placement of cap or not seated on crown as it was previously. Since cap was not fixed on the tooth and while food chewing yr gums might got injured.x ray is required for proper diagnosis
