Start an antibiotic course and let the infection subside a little then you can go for extraction.

hello, you can do warm salt water rinses as a home remedy, but this will give you only temporary relief from pain. you need to visit a dentist and get it checked. get an x-ray done. The pus can be managed with the help of antibiotics. the best treatment for wisdom tooth is to get it removed.

Mostly anesthetics do not work in case of pus in the tooth. So the infection needs to be subsided first. Only then depending upon the severity of the condition a tooth need to be extracted.
Health Tips
A complete course of antibiotics should be followed.

Hi there, it is always better to let the infection severity get reduced by proper antibiotics first so that bacteria at site at reduced. Do remember most anaesthetics are less effective in presence of pus so better take the course and then do the procedure to future risk of infection as well
Next Steps
take the medicinal treatment for 5 days
Health Tips
do get timely treatment and do not ignore

Hi. The severity of the pus and location of tooth is critical in deciding the treatment plan. In most cases, the swelling is reduced by antibiotic cover so as to make anaesthesia to site more effective. However, sometimes, time is of essence and waiting for the pus to be managed by antibiotic alone in critical cases like lower molars may not be  advised. We look to drain the pus by opening the canal so that antibiotic is more effective. Also if we can achieve anaesthesia by nerve block, then tooth can be extracted.
Next Steps
Please state the location of tooth and the severity of pus. incision and drainage (opening of Root canal) to release pus always helps in pain relief and management of swelling.
Health Tips
Please do take full course of antibiotics in proper potency as advised by your dentist.
