Tooth decay
I have a tooth cavity in one of my molar in upper jaw and have to get a cavity filling. I am confused about the type of filling as there were two options of normal filling and another of lasik filling. I wanted to confirm that which would be better and economical. Thank you in advance.

Slight confusion at your end it is not normal filling and laser filling. It is amalgam (silver) filling and composite filling. Composite is light activated by a blue light. Composite is a more popular material for fillings today. It can be repaired, requires minimal tooth prep, and appears just like your natural tooth structure. Though silver is still done at places, the world has more or less switched to composite.

The type of filling depends on how big your cavity is, in which area and how close it is to the nerve. Cost is another factor as ceramic fillings are more expensive. Discuss with your dentist and he will be able to suggest which is best for you
