Hello, I understand your problem . Please attach a good photo of the affected area if possible . As per your description it looks like it will go for extraction but i can not say without clinical observation and x ray .
See, if roots are exposed and doctor suggest you to go for extraction then you should go for extraction. But still if you have queries and wants second opinion you can consult with doctor online or offline for better guidance and treatment options.
Attach clear photograph of effected tooth or photograph of x ray if you had. It will help us to understand the problem.
Hello
As you told that your dentist advised to go for extraction of tooth, it seems that the tooth could be in a non-treatable state. But still, it would be better if you could upload some photographs or x rays for better guidance.
It cannot be cured at home.
Next Steps
You can get in touch with me. I am an Endodontist (Root Canal Specialist) practicing in New Delhi.
You can take a second opinion. It needs to be re-evaluated clinically and with the x-ray or RVG. However, according to the problem described, textbook definition suggests, a compromised root canal could be done in alternative to the extraction procedure suggested by your primary dentist.
Next Steps
Compromised root canal/extraction based on the outcome evident from X-Ray/RVG
