Thyroid -tsh level
Hi doctor, TSH level 5.93 however t3 is 97 and t4 is 7.3. I am currently breastfeeding my 3 months old son. Should I take any medication or should I repeat the test again and see. Will thyroid medication impact breastfeeding. Please advise.

With TSH 5.93 you need Thyronorm. I feel you should start Thyronorm at 100 mcg in the morning.  The baby has his own Thyroid which is tested at the time of birth (cord blood or tested on day 3). But breast milk should have a sufficient amount of Thyroid hormone which will be additional help for the baby.

You need to start medicines. Medicine will not affect your baby. Consult physician or endocrinologist for the same.
