Dear Team, I had exposure oral sex i didn't take pep for that after this I had another exposure oral sex(blood in mouth to) then taken pep for the second exposure also i tested negative after 6 month of second exposure is this conclusive too??? Does taking pep after 42 day of first exposure delay testing of exposure 1 to?

Guidelines recommend to do HIV test, at least 6 weeks  after finishing PEP, so that test results are not influenced. In your case, if negative,  it is o.k.

hello Sir. did you take PEP after 42 days of exposure?? the PEP is useless after 72 hours of exposure. in your case pep would have been ineffective if taken after 42 days  and hence the test done after six months of second exposure is conclusive of negative status as you didn't get infected . if you need further information please contact me. 9seven111eight5eight2 seven.

Hi,post exposure prophylaxis should be taken with in 72 hours ,to be effective.Basically latest HIV antigen/antibody test can detect infections by 3 months .as u tested negative after 6 months which might also cover first exposure also.. please connect and get detailed explanation . Thank you
