Hi, Pain in tooth is not normal. Do you have pain on eating something? Or does it increase in lying down? Do you have sensitivity to cold or hot? It is advisable to see a dentist who can clinically examine and take X- ray if required. If decay is not very deep, filling will be done. If it's touching nerve, root canal would be required.
Please search for a dentist in your vicinity using Practo and try to make a visit as soon as possible before the symptoms aggravate further.
Whether the tooth will require a filling or a root canal treatment will depend upon the current condition of the tooth and the X-ray will help in that.
Regards.
