Tail bone pain
The pain has been persistent from some weeks. It aches badly when I get up from a sitting position and also when I'm standing for long hours

The pain in all probability is due to your poor sitting posture which produces mechanical loads on the tail bone while sitting. Focus on sitting properly such that the full pressure is distributed on the sit bones, the ischial tuberosities.
