No...first thing is to change lifestyle and take small frequent meals.. If the course was not useful It means there has to be a modified regime for GERD that should be initiated
Next Steps
if you really need insights you can go to a gastroenterologist or consult

First of all for GERD you need to modify your lifestyle. Walk for a couple of kms in a day. Eat atleast 3-4 hours prior bedtime and sleep while head end elevated- with 2 pillows beneath. If you feel chest pain you have mucain gel 10ml three times a day. But mainstay remains lifestyle modifications along with pharmacological therapy.

I understand your concern. Many patients with GERD rely on antacids, but regular use often causes constipation, which explains your current problem. Antacids also give only temporary relief and do not treat the root cause. For mild symptoms, it is better to use famotidine instead of frequent antacids. For more persistent GERD, proton pump inhibitors (omeprazole, pantoprazole, etc.) are more effective in the long run. Ayurveda can support GERD management, but only when combined with proper diet and lifestyle changes – not just by taking one tablet.
Next Steps
If you want a complete diet chart and detailed lifestyle plan for GERD, you can contact me.
Health Tips
Stop frequent antacid use to avoid constipation. Eat small, non-spicy meals and avoid lying down after food. Increase fiber and water intake to relieve constipation. Elevate head while sleeping. Consult a gastroenterologist if symptoms persist (endoscopy may be needed).
