Hi, What is meant by T8 Compression Fracture? My father aged 67 years fell down from bed and having T8 Compression Fracture. Having back pain, not able to sit/stand and walk. How long it will take to recover? Will it recover completely? Will he able to sit/stand, walk, travel and/or daily activities like earlier? Please give suggestions. How long it needs bed rest? IT all depends on nature of fracture usually thoracic spine fracture stable if simple compression, rest depends on primary disease in old age malignancy has to be kept in mind
Kindly do share the X-rays of fracture.
If your father is suffering from TB and on medications for TB. Would have had a fall and sustained fracture: TB fracture
It will recover, but not completely, . Will take nearly 6months. Can walk once the fracture heals. Wanted to see the fracture.
Do share plain radiographs.
He can sit based on the fracture healing. Need to take anti TB drugs
