Based on the size 5.6 × 3.1 mm and appearance, this looks like a small reactive lymph node, which is usually benign 👍. Presence of a fatty hilum is a good sign and commonly seen in normal reactive nodes. Nothing to worry at this stage these often occur with minor infections and settle on their own. If it persists, increases in size, or you have other symptoms, a quick consultation will help confirm and guide you further with confidence.

Based on the USG report you provided, the lymph node measures 5.6 x 3.1 mm, which is clinically considered small and within a normal size range. Most importantly, the oval shape and the presence of a fatty hilum are strong indicators of a 'Reactive Lymph Node.' A fatty hilum is a normal anatomical feature; its presence usually rules out malignancy and suggests that the node is simply reacting to a minor local inflammation, such as a dental issue, throat infection, or a small skin irritation in the mandible area."
Next Steps
Hands Off: Avoid constant poking or squeezing the area. Frequent manipulation can irritate the node and cause it to stay swollen longer than necessary. Monitor Symptoms: If you develop a persistent fever, night sweats, or unexplained weight loss, consult a doctor immediately for a more detailed systemic review. Oral Hygiene: Since mandible nodes often react to oral health, maintain good dental hygiene with regular brushing and antiseptic gargles to reduce local bacterial load.

Small node (5.6×3.1 mm) with oval shape → likely benign/reactive lymph node. Image suggests fatty hilum present → good sign

Please go for a proper consultation for further evaluation. A detailed history and examination are needed to understand your symptoms correctly. Without this, it’s difficult to give the right treatment. Kindly bring any previous reports or prescriptions.
