Switch from Private vaccine to Govt Vac
Hi,
Wanted to check if we can switch from Private vaccine to govt vaccine. I have taken 6 week vaccine from private. Planning to take further vaccine from Govt. Is it safe to switch ?

Yes, switching is safe. Vaccines are interchangeable. However, some vaccines like PCV, rotavirus, varicella and Hib are not part of govt schedule â those won't continue if you switch. Govt schedule covers the essentials. Just maintain a record of what was given so nothing gets missed.

But sum vaccines are available at private sector only optional vaccines which r available from private clinics .

Hello,
There is no problem in switching to the government immunization schedule. However, a few important vaccines are not included in the routine government schedule and are available only in the private sector. These are recommended to provide broader protection:
* Influenza (flu) vaccine.
* Typhoid conjugate vaccine (TCV).
* MMR vaccine: The government provides the MR vaccine, whereas the private schedule recommends MMR which also protects against mumps.
* Hepatitis A vaccine
* Chickenpox (Varicella) vaccine
* Meningococcal vaccine.
You can continue the routine vaccines through the government program while taking these additional recommended vaccines in the private sector after discussing the schedule with your pediatrician.

Yes you can switch but then follow that schedule ( National immunisation schedule ). You can get most of the vaccine from govt. But do get your child vaccinated for Typhoid, Chicken pox and Hepatitis A apart from govt schedule.

Yes absolutely. You can switch as the vaccines given in government and private are same till 14weeks. After that there are additional vaccines given in private setup and ensure your child gets these additional vaccines which are not given in the national immunisation schedule.
