In some patients it will be there just because they have to stand for a very long time.
Are you taking any drugs for long time ? Something like antihypertensive or antidiabetic. They also cause swelling of the leg.
You have no symptoms. I suggest you get the Health Package offering a number of blood tests, from one of the Multinational Laboratories. If all reports are normal then you should forget it. Get repeat test every year.
Is this happening on one ankle only or both ankles? Since how long has it been happening? Do you stand for too long? Have you gained weight recently?
Swelling around the ankle can happen due to a lot of reasons. If elevation is giving you some relief and since there is no pain, it could mostly be related to your veins, but more detailed history is needed to comment further.
