Swelling in knee and ankle
Recently I have undergone ACL reconstruction surgery and am daily doing PT and applying ice packs . How long will there be swelling . When I try to walk I feel pain on knee my therapist told me if there is pain then avoid walking .just need to know 2 questions - when will this swelling b end and is it ok to walk little after ACL surgery even if there is pain ?? Really appreciate for your help

Recovery response varies from patient to patient. It will be best to discuss it with  the  surgeon who operated  on you.

Swelling is quite common after knee and ankle surgery . It takes a few weeks to resolve. After ACL surgery I normally ask my ask patients to start weight bearing with the help of a single crutch for few weeks . You need to continually with Physiotherapy.
