Swelling in hand due to cannula
My mother has got cannula in her hand for 5 days. She got it removed 2 days ago. But she is having a lot of pain in that area and also the area has swollen and has turned blue pink. She is feeling a pulsating pain like there is a pus but we can't see one.

Nothing to do..just keep pillow below her hand so that it remains bit elevated and apply ice pack rolled in towel. It will come down in few days

Its very common to have such complication due to cannula. Don't worry at all. It will subside by its own.

Apply gently Thrombophob ointment two to three times a day over the red coloured area.
Health Tips
Cold fomentation at site would help to reduce pain and swelling. Slight restrictions of movements of wrist joint may be veneficial.

You can use Thrombophob ointment in the area where canula was inserted and also along the direction of vein nearby. She should have Capsules Novaclox , a tablet which is combination of Paracetamol, Diclofenac and Serratiopeptidase. For further clarification you can consult with me on Practo.
