Swelling in ankle and 99.5 fever.
Hi doc, my dad who is 70 yrs old had 3 stents in 2 of his arteries done 3 months back. A month back he had some long infection due to exposure to some cold weather and go nimonitis. He was given augmentin and call. After a week or so he felt better. But he had some swelling in his ankle where the stent was inserted. Since the last 2 days he has fever of 99.5 and is limping. The ankle has swelled and is a bit warm to touch. His esr is 88 and crp is 30. Uric acid in 3. Plz advice.

Looks like there is a septic collection in ankle May be acute or chronic osteomyelitis. Needs urgent debridement and Incision and drainage. Culture and sensitivity should guide antibiotic use.

Hi, it looks like septic arthritis, needs urgent attention. Needs wash out /surgery if it septic arthritis. Consult ortho urgently
