Sweating on only left side of body
From few months, I'm sweating in left side of face , neck , chest only . There is not a single drop of sweat that comes from right side of body. Also , when I sweat outside i start sweating alot . Again the right part remains completely dry. And these days i sweat alot. I also underwent MRI of brain . And it was completely normal.

The pattern of left-sided excessive sweating with absent sweating on the right side suggests a possible autonomic nervous system disorder. A normal brain MRI is reassuring, but further evaluation is needed to identify the cause. Please consult a neurologist for detailed autonomic examination and consider imaging of the neck/chest (MRI cervical spine or CT chest) and other investigations as advised. Seek urgent care if you develop weakness, drooping of the eyelid, vision changes, or difficulty speaking

Sweating strictly on one side of the body — with the opposite side completely dry — is called unilateral hyperhidrosis, and it is a neurological finding that warrants proper investigation. The normal brain MRI is reassuring, but this condition is often not caused by a brain issue — it is typically due to the sympathetic nervous system pathways that control sweating being disrupted somewhere along the spine or peripheral nerves. The distribution you describe (left face, neck, and chest) points toward possible involvement of the cervical or upper thoracic sympathetic chain. This can occur in conditions like Harlequin syndrome (usually benign), a cervical or thoracic spine abnormality, or rarely a lung apex lesion compressing the sympathetic nerves.
Next Steps
See a Neurologist with your brain MRI. The next investigations should be an MRI of the cervical and thoracic spine, and a chest X-ray to rule out any structural cause. Do not ignore this — it needs a proper autonomic and neurological evaluation. Please consult me directly on Practo for a detailed evaluation.

Sweating on only one side of the body is called unilateral hyperhidrosis. It is rare and is due to neurological or sympathetic nerve problems. The root cause maybe 1. A spinal cord issue 2. Localized nerve damage. 3. Conditions like Harlequin syndrome or Horner's syndrome. Treatment is: 1. Manage the primary cause. 2. Localized nerve-blocking injections like Botox. 3. Anticholinergic medications like oxybutynin or glycopyrrolate 4. Controlling the specific nerve irritation if the cause is nerve compression, a nerve lesion, or an autonomic disorder.
