Surgical Extraction of Wisdom Teeth
I have been suggested removal of all 4 wisdom teeth as they are impacted.. 2 on one day and 2 on another day. I am a little worried as I have heard that wisdom tooth extraction requires opening your mouth for long time and this causes jaw stiffness and difficulty in opening mouth for a long time. How many days off work does one need? Is 2 days enough? Also, is such a procedure safe for someone who already suffers from jaw popping and deviation due to TMJ disorder?

If u can share the x-ray (opg) would be good will give an idea to analyse how simple or complicated procedure would be. It's simple procedure nothing to get panic . Ull  always not encounter such complications, basically depends on the difficulty as well skills of ur dentist. U can go for same side upper n lower tooth removal same day tht would be good since the instructions and medications will be same. Ull be alright in 2 to 3 days depending on the difficulty of procedure. If it goes easy thn in 1 to 2 days ull be fine.
Next Steps
follow the post extraction instructions and medicines given by your dentist

Hi absolutely yes, since you are well aware of your history i am sure your surgoen will take all precautions and make the procedure as comfortable as possible. Post wisdom teeth extraction some amount of swelling( depending on whether bone guttering is done ) , reduced mouth opening( because of multiple injections administered ) is common. Antibiotics and painkillers, anti inflammatory medicines will be prescribed that takes care of most of the concerns. Muscle stiffness and reduced mouth opening will get better after two days of surgery. Certain exercises and warm saline rinses will help relax the jaw muscles. Two days of rest is usually sufficient to recover.
Next Steps
Meanwhile follow all the instructions given by your surgeon and get regular followups done.

Hi Could you please  attach OPG? As you already have jaw popping and deviation, third molars are the  root  cause for it and removal of it ll be a better option and safe. We need to see the way your teeth are positioned, opening of mouth is required as it is last tooth, and access will be difficult if ur teeth are deeply seated. keep yourself relaxed during the procedure, if you stress yourself that ll make you feel  uncomfortable and even to your dental surgeon. Two days are sufficient to rest. Tips:- * Don't panic keep yourself completely relaxed  and don't listen to other people's opinions that ll give you more stress which is not good, coz your case might be different from others,it's not necessary even you should experience the same. Your dental surgeon will take care of other issues during the procedure to make sure u feel more comfortable. Be brave n be confident, trust your dental surgeon, everything ll be super fine. All the best.
Health Tips
*Follow the instructions given by your dental surgeon and take medicine on time. *Use ice sponging if u notice swelling post extraction. *keep the extraction site clean. *Avoid touching the extracted site with tongue or fingers. *Avoid keeping ur hands on ur cheeks after extraction. * Avoid intake of spicy food, chickpea, Brinjal, potatoes, banana, fish if ur non veg post extraction.
