I have nose block issues sticky, sometimes stringlike, mostly white n sometimes transparent in color. Had it for 2-3 years, improves with pranayama. It doesn't get cleaned no matter how much we take out. I assume it started when I did oil pulling with coconut oil.
When sneezing, i sneeze at least 3 times. Sneezing issue started long before stuffed nose issues. I sneeze dusty objects like blanket are around. I feel I have dust allergy. I also sneeze at other times not sure why (not very persistent sneezing, happens like sometimes)
No pain or headache in the sinuses.
I usually have a cold body type n prefer to keep my torso n mid section covered n fan at lower speeds.
Is it sinus?
Can ayurveda cure it? I live in outskirts of city(less pollution) How long does it take to cure n what medicine to take? Is nasal oiling or jal neti or both prescribed for this? Is yes, which oil?
Hello. Based on your symptoms, this chronic nasal blockage with sticky, stringy white discharge and frequent sneezing points strongly toward an allergic rhinitis presentation (referred to as Vata-Kaphaja Pratishyaya in Ayurveda), rather than a classic acute bacterial sinusitis, especially since you don't have facial pain or headaches.
Ayurdeda has excellent, long-lasting solutions for this by root-cleansing the accumulated Kapha toxins and strengthening your respiratory immunity. Regarding your question: yes, simple home care like warm herbal steam inhalations can help break down the sticky discharge safely. However, immediately starting heavy nasal oiling (Nasya) when there is active, stringy white mucus can sometimes block the passages further. We need to clear the excess Kapha first before nourishing the nasal tract.
Since this has been going on for over two years and you naturally have a cold body temperament, we must plan a structured course to boost your internal metabolic fire (Agni). If you want me to evaluate your daily routine and suggest the right internal herbal formulations for your body type, please click the "Consult" button below to connect with me in a private chat (DM).
Next Steps
1. Opt for gentle warm steam: Before trying any nasal procedures, do plain warm water steam inhalation for 5 to 7 minutes twice a day. This safely thins down the thick, stringy mucus so it clears out easily without straining.
2. Approach Jal Neti and Nasya cautiously: Jal Neti can be highly effective for dust allergies, but it must be learned correctly from an expert to avoid moisture getting trapped in the sinuses. Similarly, avoid heavy oils right now; once the active congestion clears, a very mild oil like Shadbindu or Anu Taila might be introduced under guidance.
3. Keep the torso warm: As you mentioned having a cold body type, continue keeping your torso well-protected, avoid sleeping directly under high-speed fans or air conditioning, and completely avoid drinking cold water.
Health Tips
1. Gentle kitchen remedies: You can start drinking warm water throughout the day. Drinking a warm cup of water infused with a small piece of crushed fresh ginger and 2-3 Tulsi leaves in the morning can naturally help dissolve the sticky Kapha.
2. Dietary trigger management: Strictly avoid Kapha-aggravating foods in the evening, such as curd, bananas, heavy sweets, and fermented items, as they increase night-time nasal congestion and morning sneezing fits.
3. Verify the physical labels: If you buy any over-the-counter herbal teas or respiratory supplements, always verify the active ingredients, manufacturer details, and expiry dates on the physical labels for safety.

The symptoms you’re describing could possibly indicate an allergy, such as allergic rhinitis. However, the exact cause cannot be confirmed based on symptoms alone. Depending on your symptoms and medical history, a few investigations, including relevant blood tests, may help us evaluate the possibility of an allergy. Ayurveda offers treatment options for allergic rhinitis, including some internal medication and Marsha Nasya, depending on the individual’s condition and suitability. These procedures should be performed under the supervision of a qualified Ayurvedic physician.
Next Steps
Once we have a detailed consultation and assess your symptoms, we can determine the most appropriate treatment approach, including the type of procedure, frequency, and duration of treatment.
It will be cured
No need to worry
2-3 tulsi leaf dipped in honey, morning, empty stomach, makes you better
Along with that, try to avoid banana brinjal, Maida for one month
Take ayurveda tablet Histantin 1-1-1 after food
U need proper Shodhan for this .and with proper consultation ur prakriti Desha Kala u have to take few medication along with nasya (nasal administration) and it requires long treatment only to increase your immunity so that with few allergic condition u will not have adverse effect.. it cannot be fully curable but u will get more than enough results in allergic condition
What you're describing sounds more like allergic rhinitis than true sinusitis, since you have no facial pain or headache and it clearly tracks with dust exposure. The sticky, stringy white discharge and repeated sneezing fit a dust-triggered allergy rather than an infection. It can run on for years and isn't dangerous, but it responds far better to avoiding triggers than to any single quick cure.
Next Steps
A simple saline nasal rinse daily can clear the stickiness better than oiling. Reducing dust around blankets and bedding, and an ENT or physician visit to confirm the diagnosis and suggest a suitable antihistamine, will help more than home remedies alone.
Health Tips
See a doctor if you develop facial pain, thick yellow or green discharge, fever, or worsening symptoms despite avoiding dust, since that can mean a sinus infection needing different treatment.
