Struvite stones
My pug female 4 yr old has struvite crystals in her bladdar. Her spaying has done 1 year ago. We had the ultrasound and urine culture test from where we got to know that she has struvite crystals. I wanted to know why is white discharge coming from her vulva. We had given antibiotic treatment 2-3 times. After 10-15 days of every antibiotic treatment discharge starts coming. Is it due to struvite stones. For how long we would have to give her antibiotics?

The white discharge may be due to urinary tract infection. Kindly make sure you give struvite diet for your pet to keep the crystal issues under control and also test her urine for UTI infection. She may need a specific antibiotic therapy based on the antibiotic sensitivity test. It will help in clearing the infection effectively in her case.

Cause of Sturvites is either due to UTI or due to high energy food and low exercise so check on that, if already antibiotics are given considering bacterial infection then send that discharge sample for bacterial culture and antibiotics sensitivity test then Your Vet will decide which antibiotics is need to be given, if it's food born then shift her to Prescription diet.
Stump pyometra is anaother condition where you will get discharge form vulva after the spaying.

Both UTI and Struvite are interlinked..food plays major role here..so please change the diet to Struvite prescription Diet.Urease producing bacterial infection can cause Struvite stones.so culture tests should be performed to findout the exact organism.and appropriate medication should be given.simultaneously if you do this it should solve the issue.
