Pug female 4yrs old
My pug has been spayed 1yr ago. Few months back she started having discharge from her vulva. Her vet asked to have a ultrasound. There was no stump but struvite crystals were there in bladdar. Since then we have been giving her the diet that vet has prescribed. But last month she started having discharge again. Her vet started her antibiotic therapy. But now again she started having discharge. What it is? Do we have to start antibiotic again? Why it is happening again and again?

It can be urinary tract infection or urinary tract crystals. You can check complete urine analysis with culture and sensitivity test to rule out if she has any infection in the tract. The discharge can also be used as a sample and analyzed to get an idea of what exactly is happening to her.

Before starting any treatment course you’ll have to get your pet thoroughly examined. If struvite crystals are diagnosed again. Then yes, you will have to get her treated again. Along with restricted diet and medications to avoid recurrence.
