Stress driven jaw tension
I have jaw tension due to stress .how to releive it ..any medication ?or will dental night guard will help..pls respond .thanks

Hi, Customised Nightguard will help,but it is important to find out the cause and as you said it is stress..so would advise you to consult me so that we can go through a counselling session to rule out the cause itself..

Hello…. The jaw tension can occur from overexertion such as chewing too much, and clenching and grinding teeth during sleep. You can use dental night guard at night,it will surely help in reducing the tension during night time. Rest you can massage your jaw may help increase blood flow and reduce muscle tightness. You can try this by opening your mouth and gently rubbing the muscles next to your ears in a circular motion. This is the area where the temporomandibular joints are located. Try this several times a day, including right before bed.

Jaw tension can be relieved with muscle relaxants  and physiotherapy. You can consult through this for prescription of medication and instructions on investigations and physiotherapy.
