My son is having strep throat and fever. He is 6 years old approx 21kg. Can I give him Azithromycin? What would be the dosage?

If you are certain that your son is having strep.pharyngitis you can use azithromycin.You can give 5.3 ml of azithromycin 200mg/5ml once daily for atleast 3 days.

Please don't use antibiotics without a proper consultation with a Doctor. Azithromycin is a safe drug but its effectiveness may not match the tall claims made for it regarding upper respiratory infection. Yes, it is often used as a first line drug.
