Sorry for the long post
Hello doctor, my son is 4.5 years old . He has speech delay and we are taking speech therapy. He now can speak some sentences .
He understands everything and follows all commands
He Makes proper eye contact and responds to his name and Nick name.
The problem is that he has obsession with toys and every time he remembers some toys he needs that or else he will be cranky and crying and sometimes it's very difficult to make him understand.
Also he keeps on saying word like he says water then untill we give him he keeps on repeating.
Plz help

Set clear and consistent rules about when he can play with his toys this can help him understand when he can have certain toys, reducing his anxiety. If he fixates on a toy, try distraction techniques to another activity he enjoys.
For his repetitive speech, calmly understand his requests and need of repetition. For example, if he repeatedly asks for water, say, “I hear you. I'm getting it now.” show him you are addressing his needs. Gradually teach him to wait for short periods by using timers or countdowns.
