Care AI Shimmer
Allergic Rhinitis - cetirizine alone not enough. Better Treatment: 1. Antihistamine (Stronger): - Levocetirizine 5mg once daily (evening) - OR Fexofenadine 120mg once daily - More effective than cetirizine 2. Nasal Spray (Most Important): - Mometasone nasal spray (Nasonex/Momate) - 2 sprays each nostril twice daily - Works best for nose block - Relief in 2-3 days 3. Decongestant (Quick Relief): - Pseudoephedrine 60mg twice daily - OR Phenylephrine nasal drops - Only for 3-5 days 4. Combination: - Montelukast 10mg at bedtime - Helps with allergic symptoms Recommended Regimen: - Levocetirizine 5mg evening - Mometasone nasal spray 2 puffs each side morning/night - Montelukast 10mg bedtime - Steam inhalation 3x daily Avoid: - Dust, smoke, cold air - Sudden temperature changes Cetirizine alone often insufficient for severe cases. Need nasal spray for best relief.
Next Steps
1. Buy TODAY: - Levocetirizine 5mg tablets - Mometasone nasal spray - Montelukast 10mg tablets 2. Start Immediately: - Levocetirizine 5mg now (evening) - Nasal spray 2 puffs each nostril morning/night - Montelukast 10mg tonight 3. Steam Inhalation: - 3 times daily - Add eucalyptus oil if available 4. Avoid Triggers: - Stay indoors if possible - Wear mask if going out - Avoid AC directly 5. Should improve in 24-48 hours 6. Continue treatment for 7-10 days 7. See doctor if no improvement in 3 days

Hello, I am Dr. Romain Rajan, General Physician. Your case has been allotted to me. I understand your concern. Sudden sneezing and nasal blockage without fever is most likely due to allergic rhinitis or mild viral cold. Since Cetrizine did not give much relief, a slightly stronger anti allergic and nasal decongestant combination may help. ✅ Advices Stay indoors for a day, avoid dust, perfumes and sudden temperature changes. Do steam inhalation with plain water twice daily for 5 to 10 minutes. Keep yourself well hydrated with warm fluids and soups. Management You can take • Tablet Levocetirizine with Montelukast (like Montair LC or equivalent) once daily at night after food for 3 to 5 days. • Otrivin or Nasivion nasal drops or spray one puff in each nostril twice daily for 2 to 3 days to relieve nasal blockage. Avoid using nasal sprays beyond 3 days to prevent rebound congestion. What to Monitor Frequency of sneezing and nasal obstruction. Any development of fever, thick discharge or facial pain. When to Consult a Doctor Immediately If symptoms persist beyond 5 days or become recurrent. If you develop fever, headache or ear pain. Every person’s allergy pattern differs. For long term control, allergy evaluation and preventive measures may be needed. 👉 You can reach out to me directly for this case and also connect with me in future for any medical consultation. I am available on Practo or on WhatsApp at 85271646 seven seven for a one on one consultation where you will receive A personalized allergy control plan Safe medicine guidance Quick follow ups to track recovery Take care and wishing you quick relief. Best regards, Dr. Romain Rajan General Physician
