Sleeping pill
As I get older I realize I can't get quality sleep. I did a full body checkup, doctors say I am fine. Is it okay to take alprazolam every night? I know people frown upon sedatives, but can someone explain why it's wrong? Does it affect the brain or liver if we take long term?

Sir Your gut is the epicenter of health or disease. Even the most unrelated health issues ( like sleep in your case ) have its root in gut health. Normal lab results donot tell normal/ optimal functioning of your body systems. If you wish to take sleeping pill please do so under the guidance of your doctor. Alprazolam is a benzodiapene which has been shown to do good in short term therapy but effects in long run have not been studied.
