Sharp pain, top right back, chills, feve
My mother is 61 diabetic from last 20 years. She is under medication from last 6 months after heart failure and stenting with 4 stents. Also CKD but not on dialysis. Problem is after every 2 to 3 days she gets heavy sharp pain in right shoulder blade on the back and sometimes radiates to lower back. Along with it she gets fever and chills. What could be the reason?

Among the infectious causes, Right shoulder pain with fever and chills could be possible gall bladder infection . I would suggest you to get her physically examined in a nearby clinic .
Next Steps
Physical examination by doctor . Ultrasound abdomen if needed. also blood workup to rule out infection.
Health Tips
With so many comorbidties , she may deteriorate or complicate quickly , would suggest to act at the earliest.

It seems your mother is experiencing some concerning symptoms. Based on the information you provided, there are several possible reasons for her condition, and a thorough evaluation is necessary. Here's a breakdown: Recurring Pain: The sharp pain in her right shoulder blade that radiates to her lower back, occurring every 2-3 days, could be indicative of a variety of conditions, including: Musculoskeletal issues: Muscle strain, tendinitis, or even a pinched nerve. Inflammatory conditions: Like arthritis or a flare-up of an existing autoimmune disease. Kidney problems: CKD can cause pain and inflammation in the body, particularly in the back area. Heart-related issues: The pain could be a referred symptom from a cardiac problem. Fever and Chills: These symptoms further complicate the picture and could suggest: Infection: A urinary tract infection (UTI) or even pneumonia, are possibilities. Inflammation: A flare-up of an existing inflammatory condition. Next Steps: It is crucial for your mother to consult a doctor for a comprehensive evaluation. A thorough medical history, physical exam, and potential tests (blood work, imaging studies) will be needed to determine the underlying cause of her symptoms. Helpful Tips: Keep a detailed record of your mother's pain (when it occurs, intensity, duration, any associated symptoms). Monitor her temperature and any other changes in her condition. Encourage her to stay hydrated. Advise her to avoid strenuous activities until the cause is identified. I recommend you consult me for a better evaluation and treatment plan.
