How bad Is the pain at present.
It is usually adviced to avoid stairs in case of slip disc problem, as it will add pressure over lower back region and increase the pain..
Next Steps
If it is urgent and extremely necessary for moving up and down once a while, it can be done by climbing or descending one step at a time..
If it is avoidable , avoid use of stairs for a few days..
