Mildly elevated SGPT and SGOT during or after a viral fever is very common â the virus causes temporary liver inflammation which raises these enzymes. They usually normalise within 2-4 weeks of recovery. However, since your SGPT was also elevated last year (61), it's worth investigating underlying causes like fatty liver, hepatitis B or C once the current fever resolves.
Next Steps
Repeat LFT after 4 weeks. If still elevated, get a hepatitis B surface antigen, hepatitis C antibody, and liver ultrasound done. Avoid alcohol and paracetamol excess in the meantime. Please consult me directly on Practo for a detailed evaluation.
