Check with your dentist, there are chances of vertical fracture in the tooth... If there is no decay or gum issues, then the tooth may have crack propagation
You need to take an x-ray of that particular tooth and then only the diagnosis can be confirmed... If x-ray reveals that there is an infection or decay which is deep, then root canal treatment need to be done with a capping over the tooth... Before the treatment take prophylactic antibiotics...
