Two things need to be lined up here rather than decided separately. Trying to conceive at 37 is reasonable and common, though it is worth being more proactive about timing and testing than at 30. The more pressing issue is that several medicines used for nerve pain are not considered safe around conception and in early pregnancy, so the choice of drug has to be made by your neurologist knowing that you are actively trying.
Next Steps
Tell your neurologist clearly that you are trying to conceive so the pain plan can be reviewed with that in mind, and see a gynaecologist for preconception counselling including folic acid, thyroid and vitamin D checks. Do not stop a prescribed medicine abruptly on your own.
Health Tips
If you are already trying while on nerve pain medication, use contraception until your two doctors have agreed on a plan.
