Scoliosis, 46 degrees, 15 year old girl
Her curvature is 46degrees, her back is already deformed with moderate but chronic pain. She also is a more rare scoliosis candidate in that her spine curves going into her pelvis which is more worrisome. My real question is: When does this surgery not become ELECTIVE? My daughter suffers from chronic pain, fatigue, and bouts of depression.

She cannot go for surgery till 18 as her bones are still growing and she is gaining the height. She should go to a physiotherapist for regular stretching as well as strengthening  exercises. Some pain killer modalities to decrease pain are also advisable. Ask her to take care and have patience.
